Is the site visit free of charge?

We offer obligation and charge free site visits, which can be booked over the phone or on our website.

Sometimes, when specification of the service is clear to the client and the office, we can provide a provisional quotation without attending the site.

What happens if I am not satisfied with FlooringFirst services?

It is highly unlikely that you may not be satisfied with FlooringFirst services. However, if our work does not meet your expectations, simply send us your concerns within a week in writing to info@flooringfirst.co.uk and we will organise a new visit at your earliest convenience.

What are the payment types accepted by FlooringFirst?

We accept payment for our services by:

  • all major debit & credit cards, excluding American Express
  • cheques
  • bank transfer
  • cash

Please note, for domestic services we require payment on the day of completion.

Is there a minimum charge for FlooringFirst services?

All our services are subject to a minimum charge.

  • Floor repairs up to 2 hours, the minimum charge is £156 and full day repairs £280 inc. vat.
  • Sanding and sealing£400 inc. vat
  • Solid and engineered floor installations - £320 inc. vat.
  • Laminate floor installation - £280 inc. vat
When can I make a booking for a FlooringFirst service?

FlooringFirst customer services department is available to take your call and answer any queries between 07:30-17:30 Monday to Friday and 08:00 - 16:00 on Saturday.

Do I need to be present during the job?

It is highly advisable for you to be present while the wood floor restoration or wood floor installation takes place, however it is a matter of personal choice.

When do you really need to be there:

  • On the first day, so that you can let the floor men in and give them any instructions; UNLESS otherwise discussed with a member of the staff in advance;
  • On an agreed with the floor men date, if a confirmation of some services is required: staining colour, beading or skirting profile type, etc; UNLESS discussed and agreed in advance;
  • On the day of completion to expect the quality of the finished job, sign an evaluation sheet and arrange the payment.
Is FlooringFirst insured?

FlooringFirst Servicdes are fully bonded by a comprehensive Public Liability, Treatment Risk and Employers Liability Insurance.  

What guarantee does your service offer?

Flooring First is obliged towards its Client to investigate and redo or rectify any issued raised by the Client in relation to  wood floor restoration, hard floor restoration or wood floor installation services.

The Service Guarantee will cover replacement of any materials, including the actual flooring in the case of improper use of products or planning during wood floor installation.

The Company reserves the right to apply limitations on its Service Guarantee on wood floor restoration, not laid originally by the Company.

Exemptions & Limitation of our Service Guarantee:

  • Damage by a third party service or faulty appliance causing leak(s), high air humidity or increased subfloor damp level, which have appeared after the wood floor installation.
  • Working on floor coverings, which are at the end of their usability term, including engineered wood floors with significant wearing of its natural wood top layer.
  • Gap filling with resin fillers during wood floor restoration of old floors.

FlooringFirst Services advises that guarantee of floor sealings is provided by the manufactures and may last differently depending on the everyday use.

  • Our one component sealings offer a lifespan of at least 3 years for bedrooms or areas with less traffic.
  • Our one component sealings offer a lifespan of at least 1 years for hallways / landings or other areas with high traffic.
  • Our two component sealings offer a lifespan of at least 2 years for hallways / landings or other areas with high traffic.
Does FlooringFirst provide all equipment, tools, products and materials?

Our FlooringFirst teams will bring along all products, tools and equipment necessary for the perfect outcome.

However, if you require floor installation services - floor material, skirtings and beading are either supplied by client or supplied by FlooringFirst Service against a deposit for the required material.

Is VAT included in the price?

All our prices are subject to VAT and usually our quotes are provided as final, including of VAT unless otherwise stated.

Who pays for the parking facilities?

If the parking facilities in your area are free of charge, we will kindly ask you to secure a space for a FlooringFirst vehicle in front of your property and if necessary provide a valid temporary parking permit.

If it is not possible for you to make parking arrangements, then the relevant parking fee will be added to your bill.

FlooringFirst will cover the congestion charge fee if you are based within the London congestion charge area.

Do you work on the weekend?

Yes. For your convenience, FlooringFirst's teams are available all week subject to prior arrangements.

Is there extra charge for services during the weekend?

FlooringFirst prides itself in customer loyalty and satisfaction and therefore our prices are final. There are NO extra charges for visiting you on a weekend.

Do I need to move furniture?

A tidy and uncluttered area allows us to work more efficiently. We advise that you clear away small items such as pot plants and light furniture to prevent any possible damages and to allow cleaners to reach all possible areas when you are haveing a carpet and upholstery cleaning service.

For sanding, varnishing and istallation of wooden floors services, the room needs to be empty. Our team can help you move all furniture for a charge of minimum £80.00 per day.

Do I need to pay anything in advance?

If you want to book wood floor installation and Flooring First is providing the floor for you, you will be required to pay for the flooring in full on the day of the booking.

Flooring First services are paid for on the day of the completion, so no deposit is required in advance.

How long after varnishing can the floors be used?

It takes about 1 hour for a waterbased vanish to completely dry on first coat and it may take up to 2 hours for the last coat, before it can take a light traffic.

Furniture should be placed not earlier than 12 hours from the application of the last coat.

 



 

Does FlooringFirst offer fitting service on already purchased floors?

Yes. Flooring First does fit wooden flooring, which is purchased from another company. In terms of guarantee, however it cannot guarantee any faults resulting from the manufacturing quality of the floor.

Does FlooringFirst work with insurance companies?

Yes. FlooringFirst accepts insurance jobs and works with insurance companies. If the job is wood floor installation and FlooringFirst is supplying the flooring, the flooring needs to be paid in advance either by the customer, or by the insurance company. Before the job with FlooringFirst is booked, you or the insurance company will need to send a written confirmation that the quote has been approved and discuss the payment arrangements.

Is gap filling covered by the FlooringFirst guarantee?

Gap filling with rasin filler during wood floor restoration of old floors is exempt from guarantee coverage. Please note, while working on the surface of your old floors during restoration / repairs and endeavour to make every effort to stabilise it, before proceeding with the gap filling, it is in fact the solidness of the flooring and its wearing, as well as the condition of its support (joists) that will defy the durability of the gap filling, not the quality of the product or our service.

How long the prices in my quote are valid for?

Please note, this quotation is based on current product prices and availability, therefore we reserve the right to amend this quote, if not instructed within 60 days. Can I cancel/rearrange my appointment with FlooringFirst?

You can cancel or re-arrange your service booking with FlooringFirst with no extra charges if we are notified 48 hours prior to the visit.

We will apply a small administration fee, if the notice is less than 48 hours of visit.
