How to Fill Floorboard Gaps Using Pine Slivers

How do you properly fill gaps between floorboards using pine slivers?

Filling wide gaps with pine slivers is an effective and durable method. To do this:

  1. Apply wood glue to both sides of the sliver.

  2. Tap it firmly into the gap using a hammer or mallet.

  3. Once the glue has dried and the sliver is secure, cut off any excess wood protruding above the surface.

  4. Finally, sand the entire floor to blend the repair seamlessly with the surrounding boards.

This method provides a solid and natural-looking repair, especially suitable for pine floors.
