Can You Move a Floor Sander in Reverse?

Can you operate a floor sander in reverse?

Yes, you can go backward with a floor sander, but it must be done carefully. As you near the wall on your forward pass, lift the drum off the floor to stop sanding. When reversing, gently lower the drum back down and pull the machine along the same path you just sanded. This helps maintain an even finish and avoids cutting too deep into the floor. Precise control and timing are essential to avoid gouges or uneven patches.
