Project Details
When our team of experienced fitters was invited to this Westminster property, we could immediately see the potential the place had. The engineered flooring that our client provided looked completely mesmerising when we took it out of the packs and laid it in its rightful place. Before that, however, our employees took into account the will of the owner not to sand and/or replace the flooring that was already there. As the sanding process takes off the topmost layer of the wood, eventually comes the time when the owner has to decide whether or not to invest in a whole new flooring and replace all of the floorboards, or use them as foundation for the new flooring. In this particular case, the landlord chose the latter.
The owner provided our experts with the materials, including the underlay, the beadings, and the engineered flooring itself. There was not much need for a subfloor preparation, as everything was laid on top of the already existing flooring. On top of the old floor were placed plywood sheets, above which was fixed the soundproof underlay. This led to an even better level of noise reduction. On top of the underlay was laid the engineered flooring. The process went smooth and there were no unexpected occurrences which could hinder the progress. And just like that, in a few short hours, this wonderful property had a brand new engineered flooring which they could enjoy in the years to come. Even better is that it's suitable for sanding, so lasting for another two or three decades will not be an issue.
