Solid Wood Flooring Restoration

The hardwood flooring is a beloved choice in many UK households, and we are about to prove there is a reason behind this. Our job this time was to restore the initial beauty of this real wood flooring. Its appearance was no longer compatible with the interior design concept of our clients. The restoration project included a hallway and a reception room. The overall condition of the solid wood floor was good, but it had some minor surface imperfections. As you can see from the images, the top layer of the finish was worn and dull, which is why it had to be stripped off.

The floor sanding service was completed with belt sander from Bona, which is literally dust-free. After the rough job was completed, and the floor was levelled, the surface was smoothened up with a buffing machine, which prepared it for the sealant. Our clients wanted to keep the remarkable natural look of the real wood, but at the same time to enhance it with a satin sheen. The product we advised them was ‘Junckers HP Commercial’ satin, which means less glossy. This is a water-based lacquer, which is extremely durable and the 4 coats we apply will last for years.
