Project Details
Engineered wood flooring is not hard to install. In fact, it’s click system is relatively new and considered among the easiest to use. In addition, the majority of engineered floors come prefinished. This means that the surface is already protected by several coats of factory finish so floor sanding and staining are not needed.
The job you see here was exactly as described on top. We had to fit prefinished engineered wood flooring. It was not a floating installation, though, and we had to glue the floor down.
However, this could not be done if the subfloor itself is not properly levelled. Problem is that it wasn’t. We had to use an acrylic levelling compound to prepare the subfloor for what was to come. We managed to secure the engineered wood in place without any trouble. We left a small expansion gap to give the floor some space to move if needed and left the customer free to enjoy his fine new purchase.
