Project Details
The following photos are from one of the restoration jobs we have completed in the area recently. This example is showing one of the common problems with the real wood flooring - with the time the top finish layer is getting worn and the appearance become dull. Usually the bad look includes stains, scratches, and even dirt that has penetrated the finish and can’t be removed with the regular cleaning routine. When we talk about surface imperfections, there is a proven method to deal with them – the floor sanding service. This was the first step of the restoration process of these old pine floorboards, once we made sure the whole construction is stable and there are no issues with the subfloor.
The sanding process is completed with different sandpaper grits, until the surface is smoothened and levelled. The buffing process prior the sealing was completed with a finer grit. The owners wanted to emphasize on the change with staining the wood in warmer tones - medium oak shade. The finishing product used is 'Junckers HP Commercial', which is a hardwearing sealant recommended for commercial areas. We prefer to use it in our jobs, because it is water-based, with no volatile organic compounds and guarantees extra protection. This room was completed for a single day.
