Pine Floorboards Sanding & Gap Filling With Wood Slivers

Our services are available even for floors that look beyond reparable, and this project is proof of our words. In this property located in the area of Lambeth, we had to deal with floorboards from pine in poor condition. The flooring was a mix from major and minor issues – the surface was scratched, the finish layer was worn, there were huge gaps between the boards. In fact, the wide gaps were so many that we had to supply approx. 90 meters of wood slivers. The strips were cut from seasoned wood, so the can match the colour of the existing flooring. The first step of the restoration process was to inspect thoroughly the whole installation and to replace the boards that can’t be repaired. For replacement, we have used again mature floorboards with 160mm width, the wood specie was also matching the existing one. Once our team made sure that the whole structure is solid and stable, they started with the sanding process.

For this task, we used Bona Belt Sander, which is literally dust-free. After sanding the boards were levelled and the smooth surface was ready to be refinished. For this final stage of the refurbishing process, our guys used a water-based lacquer – ‘Junckers HP Commercial’. This product is durable and guarantees the longevity of the flooring, our team applied four coats from it.
