Project Details
A small museum in central London needed some help with their maple flooring. The museum was seeing a lot of heavy traffic regularly and the floor in one rooms was suffering from this. The manager wanted not only to restore the floor but also treat it with high gloss finish. Generally, finish with such a sheen is not recommended for areas where heavy traffic is supposed to take place. The reason behind it is that scratching, dirt and dust become very noticeable due to the mirror-like effect. However, this is what the client wanted and this is what we delivered.
We sanded the worn surface and removed the signs of wear and tear. The gaps between the boards were efficiently filled and we did not hesitate to apply a coat of waterborne finish. We advised the manager to use Bona Traffic HD which is notorious for its excellent durability. Our job was completed in three days. We do believe the manager was happy with the result, as were we.
