After our successful job in the Vogue headquarters in London, we weren't that surprised when another fashion giant's store decided to contact us with a query about their floor. Louis Vuitton's store in Harrods was in need of a parquet sanding, as the heavy foot traffic caused by the frequent visitors has left its mark. The job took 4 days from start to finish, in order to deliver the expected results. Every day of that process, our team adhered to the store's schedule and came to the site after their working hours, as to ensure that none of the revenue will be lost due to the activities that had to be undertaken.
The parquet's renovation started simply enough, as it had to be prepared for, and afterwards - sanded. As this is not a complicated process by itself, it's for the better to leave it to professionals, as the grain of the wood has a certain direction, and it has to be strictly followed when it comes to the process itself. After a meticulous work, taking a couple of days, the 100+ square meters of parquet was sanded and ready to be stained, and then finished with hardwax oil. The already sanded area was buffed and levelled in order to ensure the surface was smooth. Afterwards, our experts presented the clients with the staining colour options on the freshly sanded wood, and after they decided on a colour, the floor was re-sanded again and then stained in the selected colour. When that task was done, our team applied two coats of Osmo's Polyx Hardwax-Oil with a matt sheen.
