Project Details
This is not a project meant to showcase our high level of craftsmanship, it’s more about getting familiar with one of the traditional ways of floor fitting – nailing down. First, we had to leave the wood material at the place for few days so it can acclimatize, this is important because the new conditions might make the timber shrinks or expand in short periods of time. First, at the meeting with our surveyor, the family had difficulties in choosing the best product for their living room. After research they made online, they still were not sure what to go after – engineered or hardwood. They have stopped they attention on 4 specific products – Kahrs Siena Engineered Oak Flooring, Boen Finale Oak Engineered (with 3 strips), Elka Solid Oak with 18 mm width or Traditional Solid Oak in rustic grade. In the end, they preferred the traditional choice.
After an expectation of the subfloor and minor repairs on some damaged boards, our team could start nailing down the new flooring. The beadings were also supplied and installed from us. The doors and their frames had to be trimmed to adjust the new height level of the floors. The time it took to our fitters to complete the job was a single day.
