This Bromley wooden floor was in serious need of repair and refinishing and our experienced and skilled specialists were able to achieve great stability and long-lasting power, while the re-oiling process enhanced the natural beauty of the wooden floor.

Before

Our top-level wood floor professionals were once again able to show their craftsmanship and knowledge with this project we’ve recently carried out and finished in no time despite the size of the project and how much it needed to be done. Our clients contacted us a few weeks back and shared their desire to have a beautiful and vibrant wooden floor that is the focal point of their living room. After we arranged a professional consultation for free, we then visited the place and assessed the condition of the floor along with the wooden stairs as required by the clients. The conclusion was pretty obvious – due to the age and the high traffic this floor experienced, it required some good maintenance and a few repairs here and there. The condition was definitely not beyond repair and we were glad to undertake the project and do our best for achieving the best results possible.

After

We first tackled the more major issues we’ve noticed with this floor. Some of the floorboards were in a really poor condition and we replaced them for new ones that look and feel as close to the existing floor as possible. There were floorboards that needed to be glued down for a more stable and solid floor’s construction and to prevent the risk of breaking and splitting. Gap filling is another popular treatment that most of the older wooden floors require. Is a simple but very effective service that ensures the stability and hard-wearing power of the floor while guaranteeing better insulation in the winter months. Next, the surface of the floor was finally ready to carry on with the sanding service. Besides evening out the surface of the floor with a varying sanding paper grit for a flawless smoothness and evenness, we also tacked the wooden stairs for a more complete and put-together look in the entire home.

Wood floor sanding is one of the best benefits you can experience with your floor because it removes all of the imperfections and prepares the wood for staining and refinishing. Once the surface is perfectly sanded, it is time to carry on with the application of stain. The colour of choice of our clients is this elegant and cosy shade of brown that perfectly matches the interior of the room. Once the stain was dry and we made sure it is evenly applied, we continued with re-oiling the floor and sealing the stairs. Oil finishes are a popular choice nowadays because of the advantages they come with. Wood floor oil finishes not only enhance the natural texture and colour of wood, but they also penetrate into the wood’s structure and ensure protection from within and not just preserving the top layer. As you can see from the pictures of the project, we were once again able to achieve impressive transformation!
