Engineered Wood Floor Sanding & Refinishing

In fact, there is no wonder why so many households and commercial places opt for the modern engineered wood flooring – it is significantly less prone to moisture and water damage, it is faster and easier to install, it is generally a high-tech and low-fuss alternative to the classic timber floors.

 

Plus, it is as beautiful as solid wood flooring and looks equally natural, elegant, effortlessly attractive. One of the main concerns of people in the dilemma of whether to choose solid wood or engineered wood floors is the fact they wonder if the latter one can be sanded and refinished too. Well, we have some great news for you and the project we are about to tell you more today is a great example that aged, distressed, and dull engineered wood floors can look like brand new again with the help of professional sanding treatment.

First things first, this engineered wood floor, as well as all the rest of similar floors, can be sanded and refinished a few times in their lifetime, highly depending on the thickness of the top layer that is made out of a hardwood. While the rest of the engineered wood floorboard is made out of layers of wood materials, the top layer mimics exactly the appearance of solid wood floors and can be treated similarly. In this case, we started with a few rounds of sanding the surface.

 

We used different grades of sanding paper along with different sanding tools in order to achieve an extremely smooth, even, and uniform surface and all the imperfections to be removed. Attention to details and experience is what helps us the most with engineered wood floor sanding projects. Next, to finish things up and ensure not just elegant and stylish appearance, but also extra long-lasting protection, a few layers of high-quality lacquer finish was applied. Once again, we did our best with this project and as you can tell by the pictures, the final results are impressive.
