Why Choose Rugged
If you love the look of aged hardwood but want a practical, easy-to-live-with floor, Rugged is a smart choice. Its hand-crafted texture masks day-to-day wear, while the engineered construction, 1.9 mm oak surface layer, and Woodloc® click system provide dependable durability and simple fitting in busy homes.
Product Overview
Typical Rugged planks are single-strip boards around 5″ (125 mm) wide, 47 1/4″ (≈1200 mm) or 1830 mm long, and ~3/8″–10 mm thick, built on an eco core with a 1.9 mm real-oak wear layer. Surfaces are brushed, hand-scraped, and micro-bevelled, finished in natural oil for a low-sheen, tactile feel. The Woodloc® (5S) joint enables floating installation; glue-down is also possible.
Suitability
Rugged is ideal for family living rooms, hallways, and open-plan spaces where rustic charm and resilience are desired. The engineered, cross-ply build performs well over concrete subfloors and is compatible with underfloor heating when installed per guidance.
Installation & Maintenance
Fit Rugged as a floating floor using the Woodloc® click system for tight, gap-free seams, or glue down where required. Maintain with routine sweeping/vacuuming and occasional damp mopping; avoid steam cleaning to protect the oiled surface. Refresh oiled finishes with maintenance oil as needed.
