We recently took a trip to Streatham to work on a beautiful but worn and distressed parquet floor that have definitely seen better days in its lifetime. In order to improve the condition and appearance of this parquet floor, we delivered professional floor sanding, lacquering and gap filling services.
Challenges
Working with parquet flooring is never easy, especially when it comes to sanding. Parquet patterns are very beautiful and eye-catching, however, they are elaborate and challenging when it comes to sanding. Sanding a classic solid wood and even an engineered wood floor is a pretty straightforward thing. However, with parquet flooring, the wooden blocks are normally fitted in different directions.
This increases the risk of sanding against the wood’s grain, which can damage the floor and leaf to quicker wear and tear. Therefore, parquet floors should be refinished and sanded only by experienced and knowledgeable professionals and with a wide array of different sanding equipment for perfect results.
What we did?
