Wood Floor Sanding
Wood floor sanding is a phase of the wood floor restoration process which relates to the preparation of the floors for protection. During floor sanding the floors are cleared from their previous protection layer - varnish, oils or wax and are leveled against all floor areas.
Sometimes newer boards or parquet blocks may be fitted to repair existing problems or floors may be uneven for other reasons, such as dampness, continues use of improperly fitted boards or simply boards suffered age of time.

Various tools and methods are used to grip the unnecessary layer of wood and give a smooth and fine finish to the new floor surface. All our equipment is dust free, however some of the dust remains uncaptured, strongly advise moving furniture and wall decoration prior to floor works. In addition our workmen will provide dust sheets during the job, for areas where limiting dust to maximum is required.

If you are in doubt at the begining of a floor refurbishment for the actual look of your floors, we can show you the actual colour of the floors at the time of viewing your floors for quotation, by sanding a small section to reveal the bear wood below. Usually that helps with the decoration planning of the premises, as sometimes staining in a preferred colour can match better the rest of your decorating ideas.

Sealing Sanded Floors
After the floors are sanded, stained and all gaps filled if that is required comes the second most important phase of floor restoration - the floor protection.
