When not sure, contact the manufacturer first: you can discuss the different dimensions, specifications, floor finishes and compatible products for your cork floor with the local supplier or manufacturer. Once you know all the details, you will be able to estimate is the cork floor suitable for floor sanding and what materials would best serve your purposes.

Cork floor sanding should be very delicate process. Start with grit no less than 60 for cork floor in not very good condition, and grit 100 for cork floor in relatively good condition. Using finer grit might be e bit slower, but you can be certain about the smooth final outcome and the minimum cork material waste. If not done in a professional manner, the cork floor sanding might result in unrepairable damage and need of changing the whole floor. For new unfinished cork floor, a buffer and 120 or 150 screen would be sufficient.
-
After the cork floor sanding, finish should be chosen. Most often, water based finishes are the one recommended for cork floors. Natural waxes and oils can be used as well, but are not a common choice. Before application of any sealant as part of the cork floor restoration, the compatibility should be checked.
