Do's

• Clean spillage right away and do not let liquids penetrate deep into the stone
• Clean using pH neutral products that are specifically designed for stone floors
• Mop and dust your floor on regular basis
• Get anti-slip and placemats, coasters and area rags to protect the stone surface, especially in areas where spillage of liquids is not unlikely

Don'ts

• Use acidic liquids to clean limestone or marble floors, because these types of stone react readily with acids, so stay away from vinegar, lemon juice etc. and stick to specifically formulated cleaning products
• Use cleaners that contain abrasive particles, because they will most probably scratch the surface heavily.
• Put furniture and room décor directly onto the bare surface. A small investment in leg pads for all heavy items will pay off

Dirt and grit are the worst enemies of your stone floor, because they have abrasive qualities. You should make sure the floor is cleaned on regular. Damp mop the surface, but never use a soaking wet mop and stick to the recommended cleaning products. In case you use a vacuum cleaner, make sure it doesn´t have a beater bar so to avoid ending up with a scratched floor. Prevent damage and build-up of dirt by placing area rugs and walkoff mats and blotting up spills as soon as you can. Finally, stay away from cleaning products that contain acids, ammonia or abrasive particles.

How to keep your floor always looking great?

• Think of the surface of your floor as a sensitive skin, meaning never use abrasive tools and do not attach the beater bar to your vacuum cleaner.
